The SoftHeat people have thought of everything for their control including non-slip pads on the bottom, an easy to push ON-OFF button, an easy to grasp and turn heat setting dial, large bright heat level settings that automatically dim themselves when you turn out the room light, and a built-in automatic heat throttle-back sensing system if the blanket should ever become overheated. This is a top of the line matress pad and well worth the price. You do not feel the wires, the tempature is "accurate" and does not need to be set at the max setting to find comfort. If you pair this with an electric blanket - it's the best. From the time you get into bed, you get the warmth that you usually don't get until you have been wrapped up in blakents for a while. In addition, if you have muscle/joint soreness, the constant all-around warmth is a real relief. The one downside - the on/off buttons on the controls; the buttons are small. Late at night they are difficult to use but the dial for the temp control is great. The changeable faceplate is a real plus, especially if you also use an electric blanket and the controls for that are the same color.

Wow, just what I needed for a cold New England Winter. I purchased the King Size mattress pad and it comes with the dual controls. It fit on my mattress perfectly. I was worried I would be able to feel the coils, but you cannot feel them. Heating the bed from the mattress is better than heating it with an electric blanket. It's like a heated car seat, nice. When I go to bed, I put it on #10 and it quickly heats the bed. Then I either shut it off or turn it down to #3 depending on how cold it is outside. I used to go to bed with socks, PJ bottoms, t-shirt and long sleeve top just to stay warm. Now I am back to my comfortable underwear and t-shirt.

The only thing I did not like was the control pad did not sit on my night stand the way I wanted it to because the wires tended to pull it towards the edge. I fixed it by nailing a wire tack to the back of my night stand, securely holding the wires in place so it cannot pull on the controller.

I highly recommend this product if you have a cold bedroom. I cannot believe I've been living with a cold bed for all these years.
